A subject that has been overtly studied by entrepreneurs, corporate leaders and human resources managers alike – like none other is motivation. Motivation is at the nucleus of every great organization that allows for innovation, ‘exceptionalism’ and creativity to thrive in a workplace.
However, true motivation can only come from one place – leadership. It can only come when leaders set aside their selfish motives and become driven by their love for their employees.
Leaders can influence good habits in their employees not by micromanaging, job threatening, or name bashing – but actually by having an open dialogue with employees, finding out about their challenges and making employees feel that work is more than just making more money for the organization; that their livelihood is just as if not more important as the organisation’s livelihood. As the organization survival ultimately depends on its best asset – human resources.
